Holly’s is a very homely café in New Lynn, in the wider Titirangi and Glen Eden area, and it’s well worth a visit! The owner was very polite and she greeted us as soon as we walked in, which immediately set a nice tone. We came in for an early breakfast and ordered the pork belly baguette and a bacon and egg bagel. We also had an iced strawberry tiramisu latte and a mocha, both of which were lovely. It was great to see such a wide variety of drinks on offer. The cabinet food also looked very fresh and bright. The food came out promptly and was simple in a comforting, home-cooked way. The pickles on the pork belly provided a nice balance of flavours. It would have been nice if it came with something on the side, especially for the price, but I really liked how crispy the baguette was, which made it easy to eat and added a great texture. The bagel was nicely toasted, and the egg was cooked perfectly. That said, it would have been nice to have an extra sauce on the side, perhaps a hollandaise, to help bring everything together. We’ll definitely have to come back and try some more substantial items from the menu, but this was a very promising visit. Service was spot on, the location was easy to find, and it was very quiet. A great option if you’re after somewhere quaint and peaceful!
Holly’s Cafe is a perfect marriage of Asian street food and western breakfast. A unique, brave and refreshing take on the usual bacon & eggs found everywhere. Great ingredients and lovely combinations of flavour. We loved the crispy tofu, deep fried lotus root and wonderful Asian sauces with the perfectly poached egg. The flat white didn’t disappoint either. Although we didn’t try the world famous banoffee slice we can save our waste-lines for another day…perhaps today Holly is a lovely warm Cambodian lady who’s smile like her service is delightful and effortless. Well worth a visit.
I came here shortly after it opened this morning, so there wasn't anyone else here, but I loved it here. The staff are so kind, the vibe is great and the food and coffee hit the spot. I got a double shot mocha and eggs beni with salmon, and I enjoyed it very much. I will come back here again soon!
